Summary of Prologue

The Prologue opens with Death giving us a brief introduction of his character.  Even though it was not clear at first it was soon found discovered with the side notes.  Liesel was introduced by Death as saying that he was attracted to her, because of the colors that represented the scenery where he saw her. She was seen many times by Death, but three times were the most familiar to Death.    The colors were White, Red, and Black.  Red represented the red sky which was the last time that he ever saw her before he came to pick up her soul.
